My 3rd Year Combo Meal

I never really put much thought in the classes I bid for this semester. All that was important for me is that I had ample time in between classes and that I wouldn't have any class scheduled during the weekend. It wasn't until my blockmates saw my Form 5a and made violent reactions that I realized what I got myself into. In the end, the circumstances made me decide to just stick with what I got in the bidding.

Needless to say, I have a VERY stressful sem, and I'm not expecting (although I'm hopeful) that my choice of professors will do my GWA any favors. In spite of this, however, I still think I made the right choice, because so far I find all of their teaching methods to be effective. In addition to that, my professors turned out to be a really interesting set of characters. It might be just me but I find myself laughing in class everyday, so somehow, my professors reduce the stress I suffer from studying for their class. :p

The following are just a few of the things they did that made me laugh. Please, inform me if these are indeed funny or if my stress is just getting the better of me. For my classmates, feel free to add :)

PIL

Day 1: I will take a volunteer for the first case..(first case recited)

Now I will shuffle the cards (everyone holds their breath)

Oh.. I think I left my class cards. I will just call on volunteers for everything. (the class rejoices)

Day 2: And now I will shuffle the cards (everyone holds their breath)

Miss... Jane Doe*? (*not the actual name, no one stands up, the class is confused)

Oh, I think I brought the wrong class cards! (everyone laughs)

End of Day 2: I know I have been saying this, but I DO intend to shuffle the cards next meeting.

I will assign an additional case. Add Missouri versus Holland. You just Google the name and then a digest will appear from Wikipedia. (Kaloka)

(Discussing Agustin v. Edu)
Okay, so the rectangular symbol is internationally recognized... (Sir draws a triangle on the board)

SUCCESSION

(Discussing Montinola) The question here is whether or not there was animus testandi, the relatives were pointing to the last few lines in Mi Ultimo Adios, "to thee I give all to my relatives and loved ones", as a dispostion..

There is one part which I love in that work... (for the next ten minutes, he recites each line of that part in Spanish and then in English, and just as I was about to fall in love with the words of Rizal...) WILL BA YOWN!?!?!?!

TAX
So what is something about you that will impress the class?

A: Maam,I can make a sketch of a person in just about an hour, complete with shading.

Really? Sample nga! (the girls just smiles and sits down)

No, I'm serious! Marami pa naman magiintroduce, so tamang tama mga one hour yun. (the class just laughs)

(after a few others introduced themselves) Oh, are you making na the sketch? I was serious! Bilis, gawa ka na.

(Someone just finished reciting a difficult case, and the cards were being shuffled; the class was silent) Miss X? (the student stands up)

(Maam stares at her for about five seconds)

I think I have to go to the restroom.

TRANSPO
(First day of class. Sir was late for almost an hour)

Okay, class, first I want to get to know more about you. Introduce yourself, give me your name, undergrad course, tell me why you want to become a lawyer, and then give me your favorite quote or saying.

B: Sir, my favorite saying is, "Time is Gold"

I'm very sorry for wasting your time.

NEGO
(Discussing free trade, after being distracted with some IEL writings on the white board)
So are we saying that trade is bad? Okay, let's say we stop trading all together, the Philippines says to the world, screw trading! Um! (makes a big F word sign)

(A student was reciting)
O, effective ba pag raradyo? Makinig ka kasi, sinabi na nga niya e!
(a few moments after)
O, may pinapabasa sa'yo katabi mo! Ano ba yang pinapabasa mo? Tama ba? Malinaw ba sulat mo?

What is consideration?
(Student recites Art.1278)
That's compensation! Look, they both start with a c, and end in "tion" but they're not the same.
