Ortigas, and friends :)

I like it when things work out, and I like it when I randomly bump into friends, so today is a happy day for me :)

I had a date planned with Mother Jeff after work in Podium. Bong stopped by the office to finish up some business. He had to go to Shang after so we decided to go to Ortigas together.

We took the bus, and along the way we updated each other on what's up with our lives (It's been like what, a weekend since he resigned? haha). Anyway, I found it interesting that we were again, going through similar stuff. I enjoyed our chat.

We went to Megamall first, Bong wanted cupcakes, but then he saw this:

We got mochi! Thank you Bong for the treat ^_^ I had the chocolate mousse flavor. I think Bong got the red bean flavor. I wanted to get the green tea but they were out. Oh well, next time. I liked the one I got anyway. The ice cream inside really had a mousse-y consistency :)

After that we parted ways and I went ahead to Podium. While waiting for Mother, I ran into a sister, Car '10. She worked nearby, and was there to pay her bill in Globe. She seems to be enjoying her new job and I'm happy for her :)

Afterwards, I met with Mother in Cafe Mediterranean :)

Jeff A.

I love, love, love this person! And I missed him sooooo much! He just came from Europe where he took his Masters in Visual Art (not sure of the title sorry! but something like that). He told me about his amazing experience there. He had a full load for the year but he was still able to squeeze in some culture absorption during his stay there. He was also able to become a publisher, AND publish his own book. Grabe. Idol talaga :)

I got a copy of his book BTW. It's a compilation of love poems. I look forward to reading it :)

 Me and my food

While we were chatting we saw Ate Kring buying cupcakes outside. Yey! She had to leave though, as she had plans. I hope we could catch up soon :)

After some good food and good laughs, Mother went home, and then I met with another friend, Bo. He was studying in Starbucks.

We mostly talked about his plans for Yale. Jeff and Bo really inspired me to want to do LLM in either London or NY. I want to!!!! But I have to take the bar first, and get a job, and then apply for LLM. I'm so excited!!!

On my way home, I ran into another friend, Jobo. So all in all, I met/ran into with 6 friends today. Happy day :)

Good night, guys! :)

My first attempt at hair coloring! :D

Soooo I've been wanting to color my hair for the longest time but I wasn't exactly willing to shell out the money for a salon treatment, so I decided to try out doing it myself. :D

I bought Kolours in Burgundy from the grocery. It cost me about Php 250. My other options were L'oreal (Php 450), Revlon (Php 500) and Garnier (Php 350). What sold me on this choice was its price and the fact that the box said that it's designed for Asian hair, which is darker and more resistant to color. I've had difficulty coloring my hair before so this was a plus factor. Also, I liked that on the top of the box it showed the expected effect of the treatment if you have "virgin" hair and if you have already treated hair.

Kolours in Burgundy

The instructions were simple and the box had everything I needed in it: the chemicals, a squeeze bottle and even plastic gloves. Okay, maybe not everything. It would have been more convenient if I had hair clips and an applicator comb thingy but I was so excited that I decided to do without them. :))

The box, instruction sheet, after-treatment conditioner, gloves, color tube, squeeze bottle

This is me before the treatment:

So I put the content of the color tube into the squeeze bottle

Then I shook it so that the chemicals would mix together

And then I applied this mixture to my hair. I did so while wearing the gloves and I used a comb so I could even out the application. I had a hard time doing this, so I wasn't able to take any pictures during this stage :p

Afterwards, I waited for about an hour to let the mixture set in my hair.  The instructions said to leave it on for 30 minutes, plus 15 more MAX if I wanted a lighter color, but I had to eat dinner so I exceeded the time. Thankfully, my hair wasn't damaged. I rinsed it off and then put on the conditioner, and rinsed that off after about 20 minutes.

This is what my hair looked like after:

Sorry for the bad picture, I used my phone camera. Can you see the difference? Didn't use flash because it doesn't show the color.

See what I mean?  In the mirror my hair looks brown but the camera flash somehow messes that up.

Close up shot of my hair

Honestly, I expected the result to be more obvious. The color only shows under some light. My friend tells me this might be because my hair is untreated. I was going for a lighter shade, So I might try this again after a few weeks with a lighter shade.

DA STaff in the Small Con

I'm sad he's leaving :(

After work, Bong and Glenda talked me into watching It Must Be Love (?). It wasn't that bad, hehe.

Bong and I at the movies

I will surely miss Bong. I am very thankful that I met him and was able to work with him. More than anything, I am very thankful that he became my friend. We got each other through a lot of difficult things these past few months, and I can say that I'm a better person now because of our friendship :)

I'm sure there are great things in store for you, Bong. I'm always here for you. Love you foreverrrr! <3 p="">

Yey Moonleaf! Yey Kinect!

I coerced invited my friends GT and Andrew to play Kinect with me in Katipunan today. GT had class until 8:30 and Andrew had work until 8:00 so I got to hang out in Katipunan for a while. I decided to go to Moonleaf, since I've never tried the Katipunan branch before, and was pleasantly surprised by this:

Moonleaf no longer uses plastic for its cups. This is good! I hope other tea shops follow their example :)
I ordered the Earl Grey Milk Tea. It was so-so, but still refreshing.

I regret not taking pictures of our Kinect session, hehe. I will next time. We had so much fun. :)

Happy Sunday again!

Sunday has become my favorite day of the week. It's when I go to the Feast and get refreshed by participating in worship and get empowered with amazing talks. After this, I go to my my small group with sisters and share my problems, experiences, and also listen to a Bible lecture from Tim. We also pray for each other. This has been my Sunday routine for quite some time now.

Last Sunday was particularly exciting because it was supposed to be the first time I got to attend as part of the Music Ministry in QC Feast. However, I had to go home to Laguna to accompany my mother in the hospital (She had a minor operation but she's fine now). Because of this disruption in my routine, I was a little shaken and sad.

But praise God! After parking our car outside the hospital, I saw a sign! There was a new Feast being built in Laguna, and its venue is in the 8th floor of the hospital! :) I decided to go there. My mom was still too tired to go with me though, so I went alone.

This is the smallest Feast I have been to (I've been to PICC and QC). I think there are about only 30 people there, but I had fun! The Feast builder there is Mr. Jon Escoto and ha gave a very powerful talk. Not that many people were singing along during worship but the choir members were singing their hearts out so I sang along with them. At the end of the session, I introduced myself as a first-timer and got to talk to the people there, including Mr. Jon Escoto. I also met an old friend from my Parish as a child, Kuya Ray. He invited me to join the choir.

I found it interesting to see a Feast during its "beginning" in the building process. I want to be part of it. I know I wasn't brought to the Laguna Feast by mere coincidence. I want to be part of the Music Ministry, and maybe even more. I want to invite my friends to go there. However, I already gave my commitment to QC Feast Music Ministry and I have my bar review in QC. Hmmm. I hope that things work out. :)
